STONY HILL, DISTRICT 6 

This will be the final week of school, much to the delight of the children, who are eager for vacation days. 

VILLAGE NOTES 

— Dayton H. Whipple, town superintendent of highways, has completed a good job on Grand street in rebuilding the bridge near the school building. This bridge had been in need of repairs for several months, and was considered dangerous for heavy traffic. 

— Bradbury Dyer, jr., of East Berne, met with a painful and troublesome accident on Monday. He was hit in the face while playing ball and sustained a slight fracture of the upper jaw. Dr. Cullen is the attending physician. Bradbury is a student at the Altamont High school. 

REUNION OF FREDERICK 

FAMILY LAST SATURDAY 

The fourteenth family reunion of the Peter M. Frederick family was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Smith, at Meadowdale, on Saturday, June 24th. It was an all-day occasion, and the beautiful day was entirely too short for the day of pleasure. 

The old family tree of Peter M. Frederick, who if living would be 104 years of age, is still spreading its fruitful branches farther and farther. Two births have occurred during the past year, and one wedding within the family. And the family has reached its 100 mark, the total membership to date being 101. 

Of the nine children of Peter M. Frederick, five have been spared to enjoy another reunion. Of the 101 living descendants there were 58 present, with 14 visitors making a total of 72 in all. 

THOMPSON’S LAKE 

The excessive rains of the past two weeks are a great hindrance to the farmers in getting their ground all plowed, making the sowing late this year. 

UNION CHURCH 

Miss Ildra Jones recently had the misfortune to break her arm while cranking their car. 

BERNE 

By direction of the Health Officer of the Town of Berne, we are to have a Health moving picture show at Farwell’s hall, July 12th, at 6 o’clock, standard time. This is for the benefit of parents in teaching them how to keep the children well and how to properly care for all minor ills. This conference is free. Parents and children all come. All are welcome. Teachers bring your school, it’s free. 

NORTH CALLANANS 

LaRoy Rarick, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Rarick, died suddenly Saturday night at the Albany City hospital with lock jaw. The little fellow stepped on a nail about a week ago and it was thought it was healing nicely when it set up again and he went into spasms and was taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon and died at night. His brother Emery is also suffering from the same cause. He stepped on a nail a few days ago and is being treated by Dr. Shanks. We all hope for a speedy recovery. 

WEST TOWNSHIP 

The Farm Bureau will hold a poultry demonstration of how to cull your poultry at the farm of Edgar Schoonmaker on July 11th at 10:30. Everyone interested try and be present. 

ABOUT PEOPLE
Thursday evening at the Methodist church the Delmar Library association burned its mortgage. There were speeches, music, congratulations, and general rejoicing.
