Beth Oldrich, author of “Book Folding for Beginners and Beyond” and daughter of B’nai Sholom members Bruce and Edith Goldstein of Voorheesville, will teach a workshop on the art of book folding.

The art of repurposing hardcover books into book sculptures, book folding is a modern twist on origami. The craft is easy to learn and eco-friendly. Participants, ages 13 to adult, in this one-session class will make a Star of David.

This in-person workshop is free and open to the public. All one needs to bring is a hardcover book of more than 100 pages to use for folding.

The workshop will be held on Monday, July 18, from 7 to 8 p.m., at B’nai Sholom Reform synagogue at 420 Whitehall Road in Albany. Registration is required.

Current B’nai Sholom COVID policy: Masks are strongly recommended regardless of vaccination status; seating will be maintained at a healthy social distance.
