Why the double standard?

To the Editor:
My Democratic leaders in Washington (I am a registered Democratic) are confusing me more than ever.

The big announcement today is that the restriction on many foreign travelers has been lifted. This is great news, as my German in-laws are now free to visit me, after they provide proof of vaccination and submit to a COVID test 72 hours prior to departure.

I am all for testing and vaccinations, and am proud to say I have received the booster.

What I don’t understand is how illegal immigrants are allowed into the country without proof of vaccination or a COVID test and then are released into the county without being forced to take the vaccine (as so many American citizens are being forced to) or submitting to a test.

Why is there a double standard?
