Walker struck by van

GUILDERLAND — A woman was seriously injured on Wednesday morning as she walked across Winding Brook Drive near Western Avenue and was struck by a van, police say.

Aferdita Bardhi, 53, had been walking west on Route 20 when she crossed over Winding Brook, and was struck by a transportation van owned by the Rejha Group and driven by Scott J. Schurman, 56, of Troy, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

The Rejha Group, doing business as A+ Medi Trans, is based at 23 Railroad Ave. in Albany and has 41 employees, according to the Dun & Bradstreet Business Directory.

Police were called about a pinned woman at about 6:43 a.m. The Guilderland Fire Department extricated Bardhi, the release said, and Guilderland Emergency Medical Services drove her to Albany Medical Center Hospital where later Wednesday morning she was listed in stable condition.

Police are investigating the incident.
