To the Editor:
After reading about the latest body found in Thacher Park this week, I felt humbled by the dedication of the New York Park Police.

We often think that policing state parks must be an enjoyable duty but in practice often it is not, and facing corpses as part of their duties must be very hard, including on their spouses when they get home.

We should appreciate that more perhaps than we do. Thanks for your service!
