To the Editor:

Hooray for Ellen Manning and the McKownville Improvement Association for working toward making McKownville an historical district.

My father’s family settled there in the 1920s, and my husband Richard’s home was the “Old Knowles Farmhouse,” and he attended the “Little Red Schoolhouse.”

Fred Abele’s wonderful photos taken through the years, and used by The Enterprise, show what a special place it was and is. May this come to pass.
