Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, August 18, 2021

The Westerlo Library and the town of Westerlo are pleased to announce that we will be holding a family program of live music on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. in the town park. Join us for Jumpin’ Jaime and his family friendly music.

There will also be an exhibit and activity with the town museum. We are having a historical marker scavenger hunt!  Pick up your clues, map, and journal to participate.

Story time

In cooperation with the town of Westerlo, the library will hold an in-person story time in the Westerlo Town Park Pavilion Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m.  

Tails and Tales

The Wildlife Journaling project is ongoing. Pick up a journal at the Westerlo Library and record your sightings by writing, drawing, gluing or photo taking. At the end of the Summer, bring your journal to the library so we can see it and hear about your most exciting sightings.

Book Club

The book for September is “28 Summers” by Elin Hilderbrand. GoodReads says, “By the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Summer of ’69: Their secret love affair has lasted for decades — but this could be the summer that changes everything.”

The library has some copies in reserve. Get yours soon!

The Book Club will meet on Sept. 16 on the library patio at 6 p.m.

Spice Club

The spice for August is basil. Pick up a sample and three recipes to try. This month’s recipes are Basil Butter, Basil Pesto, and Easy Garlic Basil Sautéed Shrimp. Spice Club will meet virtually on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. Connection information is on our website.
