Prospect Hill Cemetery seeks help from its families

To the Editor:
If you have been in Prospect Hill Cemetery recently, you have seen our Memorial Day signs throughout the property. These signs are reminders that we respectfully request ongoing donations from anyone who has family buried in the cemetery.

Other than lot sales and burials, your donations are our only source of income. The cemetery board is staffed by volunteers who donate their time to do the bookkeeping, recordkeeping, lot sales, research, etc.  Our main expenses are for burial openings/closings, lawn care, and snow removal.

The past year’s weather caused major damage to the entrance road as well as bringing down several trees. We have removed many fallen trees and are hoping to repair the entrance road soon. These unanticipated expenses are why we are reminding all our families of how much we need their annual support.

To all those who have recently sent in a donation, we greatly appreciate it and thank you very much. If you haven’t donated yet, please consider sending a donation to Prospect Hill Cemetery, Post Office Box 50, Guilderland, NY, 12084.

Thanks very much.
