Darielys Maya, a Guilderland junior in the Capital Region BOCES Welding and Metal Fabrication program, measures the rusted area of a trailer that needs to be replaced. Students in Don Mattoon’s class are repairing a customer’s trailer — cutting out and removing rusted metal and replacing them with new pieces they are welding on the trailer.

Chris Piccini, a Voorheesville junior, welds s trailer repair. “It’s fun to be able to put the skills we have learned to work on a real project,” said Piccini, a student in the Capital Region BOCES Welding and Metal Fabrication program.
