KNOX — Michael J. Miller, a kind man who enjoyed the outdoors, died on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his Knox home surrounded by his loving family. He was 63.

He was a 1976 graduate of Warsaw Central School and a 1980 graduate of the State University at Oneonta. He was a program manager for the New York State Tax and Finance Department for 33 years.

“Mike loved spending time with his family and enjoyed being outdoors,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He will be deeply missed.”

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ellen (née Parmerter) Miller; his children, Haley Miller of Fultonville, and Dillon Miller of Knox; his mother, Kathleen (née Shakely) Miller of Warsaw; his sister, Lisa Patterson and her husband, Mike, of Warsaw; his brother Kevin Miller and his wife, Suzenne, of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.

His son, Matthew Howard Miller, died before him, as did his father, Howard J. Miller.

Family and friends are invited to attend services on Thursday, April 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main St. in Altamont. There will be an additional service in Warsaw, New York on Saturday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Warsaw at 22 South Main Street in Warsaw. A private burial will be at a later date.
