Donate pet food to help owners in need

To the Editor:

The Congregational Life Committee of theAltamont Reformed Church is sponsoring a pet-food drive in conjunction with the popular Puppy Bowl and Kitten Bowl this weekend.

The Joel Edwards, DVM Memorial Food Drive will take place Friday, Feb. 5, through Monday, Feb. 8, in honor of our beloved chairperson, the late Joel Edwards.

We will be collecting dry dog food and dry or canned cat food. Bins will be located inside the rear church staircase when the building is open. The church is located at 129 Lincoln Ave. in Altamont.

There will be a special “drive-through” opportunity on Saturday in the rear parking lot assisted by our local Boy Scouts from 10 a.m. to noon. (No need to get out of your car!)

We hope the community will get involved with our drive; the donations will go to the Altamont Food Pantry clients who are pet owners, and will be greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
