Let Dunkin’ have a drive-through

To the Editor:

I am writing about the article on Dunkin’ Donuts in the Star Plaza wanting a drive-through [“Dunkin’ requests Guilderland run with drive-through proposal; more self-storage proposed for Route 20,” The Altamont Enterprise, Feb. 1, 2021].

I think the parking lot looks big enough to accommodate a drive-through if configured correctly.

Starbucks in Hamilton Square was approved to have a drive-through and its parking lot is much smaller. The traffic can get so congested that the line for the drive-through spills out into the road between Starbucks and the rest of the plaza.

If Starbucks with a smaller parking lot can have one, then Dunkin Donuts should be allowed to have one.
