Lisa Loucks

WESTERLO — Lisa Loucks — described by her family as a true fighter — died on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at Albany Medical Center, after battling several illnesses. She was 55.

She was born on September 11, 1965.

“Before having to reside at several nursing homes, Lisa and her partner of 30 years, John Gleason, loved attending outdoor concerts, going out to eat, and enjoyed spending time together,” her family wrote in a tribute. “Lisa also loved music, playing bingo, picnics, doing puzzles, being with children, spending time with family and friends, and loved collecting ceramic and stuffed pigs.”

She spent several years volunteering at Albany Medical Center, which led to her being nominated for “The December Excellence in Customer Service Award” in 2000.

“Lisa was a strong, brave woman who had to overcome many challenges throughout her life, but she handled each one with determination and great strength,” her family wrote. “She was a ‘True Fighter’ who was loved by many, and will be deeply missed.”

She is survived by her parents, Barbara and Adriance Loucks of Westerlo; her two brothers, Richard Loucks and his wife, Michele, of Altamont, Teddy Loucks and his wife, Stacy, of Knox, and her sister, Cheryl Wilkinson of Westerlo.

She is also survived by her partner of 30 years, John Gleason of Rensselaer, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
