John R. Van Wormer

ALTAMONT —  John R. Van Wormer, a father and grandfather who ran his own business, died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020. He was 75.

He was born in Schenectady to the late Willard and Doris Van Wormer.

John owned and operated John Van Wormer Septic Service for many years. He enjoyed being involved with the Altamont Fair and the Auto Museum there. He loved antique cars.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine, and her husband, Larry Kalisz; by his son, Joshua Van Wormer; by his grandchildren, Ashlee Moore, Megan Kalisz, and Dustin Kalisz; and by his sister, Kathy Wingle.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street, Altamont, with interment at Schenectady Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m.
