Traffic Advisory: Weight Restriction on County Route 6 in Berne

The Albany County Department of Public Works today announced that effective immediately, vehicles and trucks with weights exceeding ten tons are prohibited from traveling on County Route 6 (Ravine Road) over the White Birch Pond outlet stream (200 feet South of Partridge Run Road) in the Town of Berne. This restriction will be in place until repairs are completed.”

Notice of Permissive Referendum

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Guilderland Center Fire District in the Town of Guilderland, Albany County, New York, at a meeting held on the 20th of July, 2020, duly adopted the following Resolution, subject to a permissive referendum.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE GUILDERLAND CENTER FIRE DISTRICT, TOWN OF GUILDERLAND, ALBANY COUNTY, NEW YORK, TO PURCHASE ONE (1) AERIAL LADDER TRUCK FOR NOT MORE THAN THE SUM OF $999,999.00.

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Guilderland Center Fire District in the Town of Guilderland, Albany County, New York, as follows:

Section 1. Authorize and direct the Treasurer to transfer from the Guilderland Center Fire District Apparatus Reserve Account an amount not to exceed $999,999.00 toward the payment for the purchase of said Aerial Ladder Truck.

Section 2. This resolution is adopted subject to a permissive referendum.

Zoning  Board of Appeals Meeting COVID Update

April 24, 2020 

The Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of New Scotland will hold a regularly scheduled meeting on July 28, 2020 at 7PM. Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19 in person attendance will not be permitted. We are working diligently with our current limited staffing to start uploading applications to the Town’s website prior to the meeting to give the public the ability to see the applications and supporting documentation and would encourage anyone who would like to comment on an application that has a public hearing scheduled for the upcoming meeting should email those comments to the Building Inspector at by noon of the meeting day.  In accordance with the Governors Executive Order 202.1 the meeting will take place remotely via Zoom. All written comments will be collected, submitted to the Board for review, and be read into the minutes of the following meeting prior to a decision on the application.  During this time, all Zoning Board meetings will be recorded and a transcript of the meeting will be made available at a later date.
