Elsie J. Fisher of Gloversville, a Berne-Knox homecoming queen, died at home on Monday, March 16, 2020. She was 87.

She was born in Albany on Feb. 17, 1933, a daughter of Hans and Florence Frost Herzog and was a 1951 graduate of Berne-Knox Central School. She was voted homecoming queen and played the tuba in the high school band.

She lived in Colonie for most of her life before moving to Petoff Garden Apartments in Gloversville a few years ago.

Mrs. Fisher was a bookkeeper at the former Rutland Lumber in Colonie for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Burke, and her husband, Russ, of Broadalbin; by her sister, Dorothy Pisarski of St. Charles, Missouri; and by several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Hans and Florence Frost Herzog, died before her as did her daughter, Denise Hall; four brothers, William, Harold, Lloyd, and Robert Herzog; and two sisters, Betty Rapp and Marion Herzog.

Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady. Final burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland at a later date.
