GREENVILLE, South Carolina — John D. Quay died unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at his home in Greenville, South Carolina. He was 58.

He was born in Schenectady and attended Mont Pleasant High School. He moved to Greenville, South Carolina in 2010. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his partner of 33 years, Denise Gentile; by his son, John R. Quay; by his daughter, Renée (née Gentile) DeHaas; by his grandsons, Ben and Alex; and by his brother, Jeffrey R. Quay.
