Part of Route 443 closed for culvert work

NEW SCOTLAND — Two-tenths of a mile of Route 443, the Delaware Turnpike, in the town of New Scotland will be closed this weekend to allow the state’s Department of Transportation to replace a culvert underneath the road.

The closure between Clipp Road and LaGrange Lane is scheduled to begin Friday at 10 a.m., with the road scheduled to reopen by Monday at 6 a.m. A signed detour will be posted using LaGrange Lane, Route 32, and Tarrytown Road (County Route 301).

The work schedule is weather dependent.
