Guard promotes

These local members of the New York Army National Guard have been promoted:

— Justin Lee from Voorheesville, assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-108th Infantry, received a promotion to the rank of specialist; and

— Mark Colloton from Schenectady, assigned to the Headquarters and Service Company, 642nd Support Battalion, received a promotion to the rank of major.

  • Applications open for grants to upgrade municipal parks

    ALBANY COUNTY — Albany County is now accepting applications for grants to enhance, improve, or develop city, town, and village-owned parks, playgrounds, or recreational facilities.

    Grants are capped at $15,000 each from the $150,000 available. The deadline to apply is June 30.
