Knox man accused of sexual abusing 14-year-old

KNOX — Christopher Pensack, 33, of Knox, was charged Friday in Knox with sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl, police say.

The parents of the girl contacted police, said Sergeant Eric Burns of the Albany County Sheriff’s office. The 14-year-old told police that the sexual abuse occurred within the week of the arrest, he said.

An investigation is still ongoing, said Burns, and forensic analysis of some items may lead to further charges.

Pensack was charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawfully dealing with a child, all misdemeanors, said Burns.

He was arraigned in Berne Town Court and released on his own recognizance, said Burns. He is due back in court on Aug. 7.

Pensack could not be reached for comment.
