To the Editor:

We are members of the Hilltown Senior Citizens organization. Many of these similar groups run in Schoharie, Cobleskill, Middleburgh, and Central Bridge. And like us, some people are members of more than one group.

Recently the Hilltown Seniors were celebrating their anniversary and as the “committee” we began to solicit donations from local businesses as door prizes to enhance this celebration. Because of the geographic diversity of members, we asked businesses in Cobleskill, Middleburgh, Schoharie, Berne, Knox, Westerlo, Altamont, and Guilderland.

It was evident that these businesses are regularly asked to help similar groups in the same way.  However, we found the response overwhelming!

We would like to use your newspaper to thank these businesses — most local, small, and privately-owned, though we do not dismiss our larger partners either.

We are proud to live in these amazing, generous communities!
