He is an 18-year veteran of the international folk circuit, an award-winning songwriter, and celebrated vocalist based in Chicago. He merging conservatory training with his Irish roots and working-class upbringing.
“You can expect many a gifted artist to move you deeply, but Joe Jencks will change who you are,” said Angela Page of WJFF, Radio Catskill in Jefferson, New York.
Mahjong Mahjong
On June 4, from 1 to 4 p.m., a spirited group of people will get together in the library’s Community Room, as they do every Tuesday, to play Mahjong.
Don’t know how to play? No problem! They will teach you how. No registration is required.
Insight Meditation
On June 4, at 5:15 p.m., a meditation group will meet at the library.
What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this. Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in daydreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts.
Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving kindness and patience. We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators, teens to seniors.
Give it a try. No registration is required. There is no fee. All are welcome.
