Pull together to help a neighbor

To the Editor:

The April 16 issue of The Enterprise reported on the fire of Knox resident Kathleen O’Neill Perry, who lost her dog, her car, and all of her belongings. Her daughter says on Facebook that she is “hoping and praying her community can pull together for her.”

In that spirit, a benefit open house will be held at the Township Tavern at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 10. The Bluestones will be providing the entertainment for the evening. A $5 donation per person is suggested; however, additional contributions are most welcome.

Even if you do not know Mrs. Perry, this is a good opportunity for our community to pull together and help a neighbor who needs our support right now. If a night on the town is not your cup of tea, St. Lucy/St. Bernadette Church is accepting donations on her behalf at Post Office Box 678, Altamont, NY 12009.

Hope to see you there!
