Arthur C. Pizzigati

MEDUSA — Described by his family as a loving father and adoring grandfather, Arthur C. Pizzigati was an Army veteran who worked as a craftsman and salesman. He died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014.

Born in Cedarhurst, Long Island in 1927, he was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1947 as a Technician Fifth Grade.

He was the co-owner of A. & E. Pizzigati Lumber in Inwood, New York and was a contractor, carpenter, and custom kitchen cabinet craftsman.  He also worked as a salesman for Allied, Viking, Bradco, Allside Building Supply Companies, retiring at age 72.

He was the past president of the Greenville Kiwanis, a member of the Elks, the Medusa Volunteer Fire Company, and the Albany Area Builders Association. 

In his early years, he raced Midget racers. He was an avid golfer, and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenville.

His wife of 50 years, Agnes L. Pizzigati, died before him.

He is survived by his four children, Arthur J. Pizzigati, Susan Leanza, Carol-Lisa Gutman and her husband, Joseph Jr., and Edward C. Pizzigati and his wife, Joli; nine beautiful grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren with three great-grandchildren on the way.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a “Celebration of Art’s Life” at the Medusa Volunteer Fire Company, 29 Route 351, Medusa, New York on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 2 to 5 p.m.
