Trustees need to consider opinions of residents

To the Editor:

The village election is coming up on March 19, and this is the time where we can have our voices and concerns translated into action. Most village elections have minimal turnout and most of us are not aware that an election is coming up.

And yet, local elections impact the quality of life in our village more than any other. We need to vote! There are two seats open with four candidates vying for these seats, and this is where we can make a difference.

Now it is time to use our “voice” and make a decision to have an open and transparent board that considers the opinion of its residents as an important function of government.

Both Simon Litten and James Sullivan bring enthusiasm and a love of the village to the table, as well as incredible professional and civic backgrounds for each. Both value the village comprehensive plan.

Both will address issues with an open mind, and both will approach analysis and decisions with an informed point of view, using knowledge and their skill sets to guide decisions that are in the best interests of the village and its residents, both in the short and long term.

I encourage village residents to vote. Please use your right to vote.
