Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, February 21, 2019

On Thursdays, Feb. 21 and 28, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., kids can come to the Schoharie Library to read with Gracie. She loves a good story, especially when it’s about a dog!

Come snuggle with Gracie during special after-school story times with Vanessa Repicky. Gracie will listen to kids reading on their own. She’s a friendly goldendoodle therapy dog, and all are welcome to stop in and visit her.

Storytime

Storytime with Vanessa Repicky is on  Fridays at 10 a.m. Feb. 22: Special storytime at 10:30 a.m.(see below). March 1: Dr. Seuss. All ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

“Newsies” Musical Storytime: Friday, Feb. 22, at 10:30 a.m. Some cast members from the Schoharie High School musical will sing and read the story that inspired “Newsies!”

Cyber Safety

On Monday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. learn how to protect your privacy and sensitive data with facilitator: John Borst, Cybersecurity Awareness & Training Unit, NYS Office of  Information Technology Services.

Knitcetera Club

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to noon bring a yarn, quilting, or embroidery project, start something new, or learn to knit/crochet with this friendly group. Knitting needles, crochet hooks, yarn, and fabric are available at the library. The club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Writing Club

On Mondays, March 4 and 18, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. join  writers of all ages are welcome! Bring your fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or any other type of writing to share, discuss, and critique.

Celebration

Celtic Celebration with Ariel and Iona Troupe on Friday, March 8, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Listen to stories from Wales, Scotland, and Ireland and snuggle with Ariel the dog! Iona Troupe Irish Dancers will perform at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
