Cindi M. Countermine Gariepy

ALBANY —  Cindi M. Countermine Gariepy — described by her family as a loving mother and proud grandma — died peacefully after a long illness, on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at St. Peter’s Hospital.

“Cindi was a graduate of Guilderland Central High School, Class of 1974,” her family wrote in a tribute. “She was a diehard Yankee and New York Giants fan.”

Her parents, Irving and Ruth Countermine, died before her.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Lehnert and Sue Hogan of Guilderland, and Sergeant Shaun Lehnert and Nicole Millson of Saratoga, and by her grandchildren, Cameron and Quinn Lehnert of Saratoga.

She is also survived by her three brothers, Ed Countermine and Len Bopp of Rensselaer, Keith Countermine and Dawn of Attica, and Jeff Countermine and Jeanne of Altamont; by her close friends, her Atlantic City and Turning Stone buddy, Pearl Bailey, as well as Rebecca Washington, Andrea Jeffers, Miss Nick, and Irene Mull — all of Albany.

“She will also miss the girls in the tower offices, as well as many other friends,” her family wrote.

The family thanks Dr. Ann Rutter and Dr. Jon Moesha as well as the staff at Albany Medical Center’s Critical Care Unit, and St. Peter’s Hospice for her excellent care.
