‘It Happened in Albany?: Amazing Incidents in Capital Region History’
To the Editor:
Local historian Matt Malette will relate several significant and unusual incidents that help make the history of our region so fascinating, including the first Major League grand slam in baseball history and Abraham Lincoln’s (and John Wilkes Booth’s) historic visit to Albany in 1861.
Matt Malette is the founder of Twitter’s @AlbanyArchives and the curator of AlbanyPostcardProject.com, both popular sites.
This enlightening and entertaining program will be presented on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Wyman Osterhout Community Center in New Salem on Old New Salem Road in New Scotland.
Admission is always free. Also, the New Scotland Historical Association’s museum with its new exhibit will be open one half hour before the program.
