Mertz joins ATRC board

NEW SCOTLAND — Clare Mertz of Voorheesville has joined the board of the Albany Therapeutic Riding Center Inc.

Founded in 1981 and located off of Picard Road in New Scotland, ATRC is a provider of equine-assisted therapy to people of differing abilities. ATRC is accredited with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International and is a registered not-for-profit organization.

Mertz is executive vice president of Capital Financial Planning in Guilderland. Originally from Long Island, she holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University at Albany.

Mertz also serves on the board of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County, is an active member of the Voorheesville Football Booster Club, is a 4-H volunteer, and is a professional writer.
