ALTAMONT — Christopher Vincent Davis, of Altamont, loved and worked hard, his family said. He died unexpectedly on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 18, 2018. He was 22.

“Chris worked hard, loved harder, and never hesitated to help a person in need,” his family wrote in a tribute. “Chris’s smile was as contagious as his laugh, and his vibrant personality lit up every room he entered.

“Chris was passionately loyal to his family, friends, and community. He was a skilled laborer and was enthusiastic about learning many trades. He tackled every job head on.

“He was a fantastic uncle, wonderful brother, and beloved son.”

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Davis, of Duanesburg; his brothers, Taylor Davis of Troy, Garett Davis and his wife, Tori, of Central Bridge; his niece, Tanner Grace; the love of his life, Taylor Vigay; many aunts, uncles, cousins; his foster brother, Robert Robbins, and his wife, Samantha, of Florida, and his father, Johnathan Davis, of North Carolina.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street, in Altamont on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by an informal reception at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 11 Mill Street in Altamont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Guilderland Central School District Adopt-a-Family program, 8 School Road, Post Office Box 18, Guilderland Center, NY  12085.
