GUILDERLAND — Christian Peters died suddenly in a tragic motorcycle accident on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018. He was 21.

Born on July 30, 1997, he was a graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School and a proud and cherished member of the longshoreman union, Local 1294.

“Christian’s unyielding love of life and fun was surpassed only by his great and unwavering love for his family and friends, whom he loved ferociously,” his family wrote in a tribute. “His smile and ability to bring light, joy and happiness into this world and into each and every day was absolutely infectious. To know Christian, was to love Christian.”

He is survived by his beloved parents, Sarah (née Peters) and John Muller; his cherished siblings, Cameron and Kiarah Rathburn; his half-brother, Noah Restifo; his maternal grandparents, Kevin and Patricia Peters; his father, Anthony Restifo; and his paternal grandmother, Donna Restifo.

His beloved great-grandfather, Ambrosio Tedesco, and paternal grandfather, Tony Restifo, died before him.

“Christian is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him fiercely,” his family wrote.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street in Altamont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Riders, 988 Altamont Blvd, Altamont, NY 12009.
