VOORHEESVILLE — Jeanne Adele Weissenberger Perras, a long-time resident of Voorheesville and the mother of six, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 93.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1924 in Laurelton, New York. She attended business school on Long Island and then worked for Pan Am Airlines. She married Armand Perras, and they moved to Voorheesville in 1952.

Mrs. Perras was a parishioner of St. Matthew’s Church and a member of the local quilt club. She was an accomplished artist and quilter.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Ewert of Amherst, Massachusetts; Armand Perras of Felton, Delaware; Thomas Perras of Melrose, New York; Richard Perras of Altamont, New York; Christopher Perras of Voorheesville; and Jeannine Matuszek of Voorheesville.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as by her sister, Betty Verderosa.

Her husband, Armand Perras, died before her, as did her sister Ruth Kramer.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at St. Matthew’s Church on Mountainview Street in Voorheesville. Mourners may leave condolences online at reillyandson.com.

The Perras family says it “would like to thank all the caregivers and hospice who gave Mom such exceptional care.”
