John F. ‘Jack’ Sellnow

EAST BERNE — John F. “Jack” Sellnow, a retired New York State Trooper, and a member of the Berne Masonic Lodge, died on June 13, 2018. He was 75.

Born on June 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles Sellnow Sr. and Sadie Strzesiewski. He was lovingly raised by the late Jacob and Louise Sellnow Collen.

He was the husband of the late Doris Clothier, and the late Carol Johnson Murphy.

He is survived by his sister, Donna DiNovo of Colonie. His other siblings — Ronald Sellnow, Charles J.R. Sellnow, and Sharon Sellnow Wesoloski — died before him, as did his stepfather, Thomas Strzesiewski.

His cousin, Barbara Collen Wagar of Germantown, survives him. His cousin Ruth Ann Collen Piazzia died before him.

He is survived by his grandson, Ian W. Hofelich of East Berne, and his great-grandchild, Triton W. Hofelich, also of East Berne.

There will be no viewing and his ashes will be scattered.
