The Voorheesville Blackbirds track and field team traveled to Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk to compete in the Colonial Council Championships last Thursday.

Running fast: Voorheesville’s Mariem Sayahi competes in the 3000-meter run. Sayahi finished second with a time of 11:51.60 at the last major invitational for the Blackbirds track-and-field team, the Colonial Council championships at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School in Ravena last Thursday afternoon.

Gliding over the hurdle: Voorheesville's Emma Hempstead competes in the 100-meter hurdles event, finishing in fifth place with a time of 18.79. She also competed in the 400-meter hurdles and came in fifth with a time of 1:16.55.

Pigtails flying: Voorheesville's Leureah Cummings leaps from the block in the triple jump. Cummings finished ninth with a distance of 30 feet, 10 inches. Cummings also competed in the long jump, finishing in sixth place with a distance of 14 feet, 10.50 inches, and in the pole vault, finishing second with a height of 8 feet even.
