The first annual Environmental Awareness 5K was run on the rail trail to benefit the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, was put together by 16-year-old Ava DeSantis.

And they’re off! Roughly 35 runners took part in the first Environmental Awareness 5K in Slingerlands last Saturday morning.
