Human-rights abuses are rampant even in this great nation

To the Editor:

Thank you for shedding a spotlight on the issue of sex trafficking in the United States.

Highlighting this scourge encourages us to engage in relevant discourse on a subject that tends to be taboo. “Very Young Girls” is a documentary that I knew of but hadn't recognized fully.

I teach Globalization Studies/International Politics, and along with my disciplinary colleagues, want to show individuals some of the human-rights abuses that are rampant even in this great nation. The more times we all can think collectively and unite to help those who suffer so much in their lives, the better we all will be.
