Photos: Dutch Go the Distance
The girls’ and boys’ track-and-field teams from Guilderland competed in the Section 2 Group 1 championships at the University of Albany on Tuesday.
The Dutch girls’ team placed fourth out of 11 teams with an overall score of 38.50 points. Shenendehowa (160 points) and Saratoga (153 points) dominated the meet.
The Dutch boys’ team placed eighth out of 15 teams with an overall score of 25 points after placing second overall at the esteemed Eddy Meet in Schenectady on May 17. Saratoga won the Group 1 sectionals on Tuesday with 136 points.
Here are Guilderland’s results from Tuesday for both the girls and boys from first place to sixth place:
First place: Girls’ 4x800-meter relay of Sarah Forman, Jennifer Hoffmann, Jenna Robinson, and Emily Burns, 9:22.32.
Third place: Abby Marco, 100-meter hurdles, 15.51; Abby Marco, 400-meter hurdles, 1:05.56; Emily Burns, 2000-meter steeplechase, 7:19.99; Noah Carey, 3200-meter, 9:21.61; and Harrison Bickmore; high jump; 5 feet, 10 inches.
Fourth place: Boys’ 4x800-meter relay, 8:11.10.
Fifth place: Sarah Forman, 800-meter, 2:20.29; Jenna Robinson, 3000-meter, 10:55.20; Sabrina Nolan; high jump; 4 feet, 10 inches; Joe Cornell, 400-meter dash, 51.24; and Noah Carey, 1600-meter, 4:25.66.
Sixth place: Liana Alford, 100-meter dash, 13.03; Sydney Campbell; pole vault; 8 feet, 6 inches; Lindsay Wall; long jump; 15 feet, 5.5 inches; Isabella Bruno; triple jump; 33 feet, 1 inch; Katie Lamar; pentathlon; 2,168 points; boys’ 4x100-meter relay, 44.77; boys’ 4x400-meter relay, 3:30.96; David Lennard; pole vault; 11 feet, 6 inches; Harrison Bickmore; long jump; 19 feet, 11 inches; and Zaviir Berry; pentathlon; 2,586 points.
