Please show some compassion
To the Editor:
Once again Jacquelyn Hallock is frothing at the mouth with rage directed towards the LGBT population and public restrooms. To paraphrase from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, “The lady doth protest too much.”
Jacquelyn, did you know that the Child Molestation Research & Prevention Institute notes that 90 percent of child molesters target children in their network of family and friends, and the majority are men married to women?
Why do you persist in your attempts to vilify gay and transgender people? Honestly, I believe you would be happier if you could see beyond a person’s sexuality.
Assuming you are a heterosexual female, can you imagine being afraid to live authentically by pretending to be gay? Why would you wish that torment on another human being?
All of us deserve the freedom and acceptance to live true to who we are. Sexual orientation does not define a person. Please show some compassion.
