Keep New Scotland going in the right direction
To the Editor:
Adam Greenberg and Dan Leinung truly get it. They get that New Scotland is going in the right direction.
Their policies and perspective are the same as those that saved us from big-box development, and that led to better notification laws for residents, better solar laws for developers, better park systems for the town, and better town comprehensive planning.
This perspective will lead to better New Scotland hamlet zoning that will encourage small businesses while protecting our suburban and rural character.
Vicky Plotsky will bring that same perspective to the Albany County Legislature. She agrees with Adam and Dan that flashing signs do not belong in our town.
Interestingly, the flashing signs are not allowed in towns surrounding New Scotland either. So, if we allowed them here, signs on Delaware Turnpike could look worse than signs on Delaware Avenue. Or maybe even Western Avenue.
Fortunately, Adam, Dan, and Vicky have the right perspective for our town.
