Person of passion: Union College senior Caroline Gorka, of Guilderland, was recently honored for her efforts with the women’s Division III soccer team. She received the “Gift of Fury” award, which recognizes passion for soccer and life. Gorka, a 2010 graduate of Voorheesville, started all 16 games for Union College as a tri-captain, and handled most of the teams’ throw-ins. Over the four years that Gorka played, Union had a 50-19-1 record.
