Middleburgh Library Notes for Wednesday, February 5, 2014
Join us at the Middleburgh Library on Monday, Feb. 10, at 6:30 p.m., for Cooking by the Book – Nigellisima by Nigella Lawson. This program was postponed from 1/27/14. We pick the cookbook; you pick and make a recipe. Pick up a book at the circulation desk read it through and tell us which recipe you would like to make. Join us on the night of the program for a meal and some great conversations. Books are available at the circulation desk. Bring your own table setting. Registration is required.
Story time
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 10:45 a.m., for drop in story time. Get ready to move in this interactive story time designed especially for children 0 to age five and their caregivers. We’ll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration is required.
Little ones art
On Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. join us for Doodle Bugs Preschool Art. This program is art exploration for little ones and their caregivers, and is appropriate for ages two and up. Registration is required.
Wednesday matinee
On Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m., the library will have a showing of All is Lost rated PG-13. After a collision with a shipping container at sea, a resourceful sailor finds himself, despite all efforts to the contrary, staring his mortality in the face.
Concert
Also on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m., the library presents Sharon Katz & The Peace Train. The multicultural South African band of Sharon Katz & The Peace Train helped Nelson Mandela end Apartheid and have continued spreading their message of peace and reconciliation through performances and workshops in festivals, educational settings and concert halls around the world. Tickets are available at the door. A $10 donation is suggested. Please use back entrance.
Knitting Circle
On Thursdays, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., join the Knitting Circle’s ladies knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required.
