Margaret M. Stewart

GUILDERLAND — A devoted mother and grandmother, Margaret M. Stewart worked in the Corporate Component Procurement Department of IBM in Poughkeepsie for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

She died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany. She was 77.

Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Thekla (née Mysick) Sutka.  She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the New Hamburg Yacht Club and enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening, sailing, and especially spending time with her grandsons.

Margaret M. (née Sutka) Stewart is survived by her children, Susan Stewart, of Cohoes, and John Stewart and his wife, Linda, of Voorheesville; her grandchildren, Evan and Stephen Stewart; her siblings, William Sutka, of Poughkeepsie, and Mary Whitley, of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, John F. Stewart, died before her, as did her son Stephen Stewart and her siblings, Elizabeth Stofa, Josephine Cleary, Barbara Sutka, George Sutka, and Theresa Scheltmeyer.

 A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc. at 490 Delaware Ave. in Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. At a later date, burial of the cremated remains will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.     WESTERLO — Richard “Dick” Rapp died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025. He was 87.

    He was born on Nov. 26. 1937, in Albany, son of the late Herman and Ethel (née Manchester) Rapp. He graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo in 1956.
