Joseph F. Parsons Jr.

WARNERVILLE — Joseph F. Parsons Jr. loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He died on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, after battling cancer. He was 61.

Mr. Parsons was born on Oct. 18, 1955 in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Claire (née Roggendorf) and Joseph F.Parsons Sr. Growing up, he moved from New Jersey, to Altamont, and then to Schoharie.

A truck driver for most of his life, most recently for Nationwide Transportation Brokers in Fultonville, Mr. Parsons was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, or riding horses. But the most important thing to him was family, especially spending time with his grandsons.

Mr. Parsons is survived his wife, Sandra (née Dibble) Parsons; his four children; Joseph Parsons III, of Warnerville; Jennifer Parsons, of Warnerville; Justin Parsons, of Cohoes; Jeremy Parsons, of Warnerville; his grandsons, James and Jacob; two sisters; Catherine Parsons, of Delanson; and Marie Bini, and her husband, John Bini, of Albany; along with several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Claire (née Roggendorf) and Joseph F.Parsons Sr., died before him; as did his brother, William Parsons.

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Schoharie, where a funeral service will immediately follow.  Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, in Berne.

    She was born on Aug. 6, 1936, the daughter of Albert Gridley and Alice Dingman Gridley.
