Lois Anne Fischle, a devoted child-care provider, died peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Sunlit Gardens in Alta Loma, California. She was 91.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1926, in Plainfield, New Jersey, and lived in Larchmont, New York, until her retirement in 1997. She was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School with an emphasis in home economics.

She was a a member of the Larchmont Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Larchmont Women’s Club, and various needlework and card groups. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed needlework, jigsaw puzzles, cards, bingo, and traveling.

After retiring, she relocated to Syracuse, New York, before following the sun to California.

She is survived by her cousin, Mildred Flowers; her nephews, William E. Flowers, Kenneth F. Flowers, Donald F. Flowers, James P. Scott III, and Jeffrey R. Scott; her nieces: Elizabeth (née Scott) Pine and Deborah (née Scott) Alden; her great nieces: Meredith Scott, Anne Scott, Katherine (née Pine) Apostoli, Amanda (née Pine) Cryer, Sarah (née Pine) Gordon, Lucia Alden, Emily Scott, Catherine (née Scott) Caetano, and Jennifer Flowers-Maldanado; her great nephews, Matthew Flowers, Michael Flowers, James P. Scott IV, Samuel Alden, and John D. Alden; numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Her parents, Olive Ely Fischle and Clarence Root Fischle, died before her as did her sisters, Esther (née Fischle) Flowers and her husband, Roy Malcolm Flowers; Olive Marian (née Fischle) Scott and her husband, James P. Scott, Jr.; her niece, Carolyn (née Flowers) Wilson; and her nephew, Richard Clark Flowers.

A family service was held at the Fairview Cemetery in Altamont on Aug. 16.
