WESTERLO —  Deborah Ann Rogers-Sarchioto — a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother who loved to sing and dance to gospel music — died on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, in a peaceful state of sleep. She was 58.

Born in Albany,  in 1959, she was the loving daughter of Joseph and Dhyan Rogers of Westerlo.

“Debbie,” as she liked to be called, is survived by her two loving daughters, Dhyana Rogers of Westerlo and Isabella Sarchioto of Schenectady. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, Leah and Jaxson. She also enjoyed the companionship of her two cats.

“Many of Debbie’s days were spent happily at the Rock Road Chapel in Berne,” her family wrote. “Debbie loved to dance and sing gospel music.”

Debbie is survived by her parents, as well as her sister Lorraine Ritota and her husband, Nick, of North Carolina; and her brother Allen Rogers and his wife, Cindy, of Westerlo. She is the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

“She will be missed by her aunts, cousins, uncle, and many dear friends,” her family wrote.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m., at her beloved Rock Road Chapel at 96 Rock Road in Berne, New York 12023.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and heartfelt sympathies during this difficult time.

Afterglow

By Helen Lowrie Marshall

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways

of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun

of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done.
