Women’s Press Club honors Gillibrand, Bartoletti, Jansing, Ormsbee, and Hale-Spencer

The Women’s Press Club of New York State will confer local and national women of distinction with awards on Sept. 28 at its Annual Awards and Scholarship Dinner at the Italian Community Center in Albany.

United States Senator Kirstin Gillibrand and Barbara Bartoletti, who recently retired from the League of Women Voters, will both be honored with the club’s Woman in the Media Award. Television journalist Chris Jansing will return to Albany to be inducted into the Hall of Honor.

Melissa Hale-Spencer, editor and co-publisher of The Altamont Enterprise, will receive Media Person of the Year Award, and Tracy Ormsbee, formerly of the Times Union and now publisher of the Adirondack Explorer, will receive the award for Excellence in Career Achievement.

People of all genders are welcome, and attendees need not be members of the media or in the field of journalism to attend. Tickets are $46 for members and $49.50 for non-members.
