Additional Vacancy on Board of Trustees Guilderland Public Library

Due to the recent death of Board of Trustees Member David Bosworth, the Guilderland Public Library now has three (3) vacancies on the Board of Trustees. Two are five (5) year terms commencing on July 1, 2017 and expiring on June 30, 2022 to succeed Daniel Centi and Peter Hubbard, whose terms expire on June 30, 2017. An additional vacancy for the unexpired term due to the death of David Bosworth shall also be filled. This unexpired term shall commence on May 17, 2017 or as soon thereafter as the individual may be sworn in and expire on June 30, 2018.

To qualify for membership on the Guilderland Public Library Board of Trustees, an individual:

Must be able to read and write

Must be a qualified voter of the Guilderland Central School District, a citizen of the United States, and at least 18 years or older. An individual cannot run for the library Board of Trustees if he/she is a convicted felon (in some circumstances) or adjudged to be incompetent

Must be and have been a resident of the district for at least one year prior to the election, but need not be a taxpayer

May not have been removed from any public office within the preceding one year

May not reside with another member of the same board of trustees as a member of the same family

May not be an employee of the library when he/she takes office

May not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office

Due to the timing of the vacancy, the Library was not able to open up the seat for petitions.  However, a person who qualifies based on the above factors, can be elected by write in votes.

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Contract No. 1 General Construction, Contract No. 2 Electrical, Contract No. 3 Plumbing, Contract No. 4 HVAC Construction, and Constract No. 5 Fire Suppression for the construction and renovation of McKownville Firehouse will be received by the McKownville Fire District at 1250 Western Turnpike (Route 20), Albany, New York 12203, until 10:00am local time on May 31, 2017, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
