Hotel will keep Crossgates and our town thriving

To the Editor:

As a resident of Guilderland, as a parent of three children in the school district, and as an employee of a local contractor, I am in support of the proposed Crossgates hotel. My career depends on the growth of businesses and homes and, with this project, it will lead to more jobs during the construction period and long after.

Traditional retail may be dying and I want to voice my opinion on that after reading the articles about the hotel. I think Crossgates has done a great job at making its mall a place that people want to go to for entertainment instead of just shopping.  It’s important to make sure that Crossgates can keep growing by way of a hotel because it just makes sense if it is going to help keep our mall and town thriving in the future.

It will give people from out of town a place to go, all while staying in Guilderland.  When you look around, Crossgates is one of the only businesses that keeps growing and changing in our town, and we need that to keep happening.

I am in full support of the hotel project and the great benefits it will bring. We should all want for this to move forward because it will only help everyone, businesses and residents, in the long run.
