Laurie L. Prastio

WATERFORD — Laurie L. Prastio, a devoted mother and grandmother, died at St. Peter’s Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was 59.

She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May 1, 1957, the daughter of the late Donald and Joyce (née Murray) Yost.

“Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life,” her family wrote in a tribute.

She is survived by her children, Donnya Taylor, Jennifer Ahmed and her husband, Hossam, Joseph Prastio and his wife, Mikayla, and Stephanie Prastio; 10 grandchildren; several brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Her daughter Nicole Prastio died before her.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street in Altamont. Interment will take place in the spring.
