ALBANY COUNTY — Albany International Airport is getting $60 million to expand its terminal, the governor’s office announced on Wednesday.

The upgrade is to “provide enhanced passenger amenities pre- and post-checkpoint and more efficient passenger flow through security,” according to a release.

The goal with the executive orders for both poliovirus and monkeypox, as stated also in the lapsed COVID order, is to help municipalities and counties test for the disease and vaccinate against it “to prevent the disease from continuing to spread.”

The answer as to why it’s taking so long for some to receive their mail is the same whether it’s the official line from United States Postal Service, local postal employee answering complaints directly on Facebook, Congressman Paul Tonko, or anyone who follows the news: There just aren’t enough workers to get the job done.

Rising energy costs and scheduled surcharge increases will increase the typical National Grid customer’s winter utility costs 39 percent for gas and 22 percent for electricity, according to the company’s projections.

While the details of expanding Albany County’s pilot ACCORD program are yet unclear, officials said that every municipality in the county has agreed to hand over its 911 data for review, beginning the process of potential implementation.
